Creating Space for More

Alexandra Elim Church is in the process of renovating 15 Ngapara Street into a contemporary multi-purpose facility that would serve the vision of Alex Elim and be a blessing to the people of Central Otago.

The vision of Alexandra Elim Church is ‘transformed lives, transforming culture’. We see this facility being a hub of transformation in Alexandra with many community groups using the space for events and programmes.

We invite you to partner with us on this project.

Much Grace

After three years of preparation and consultation with architects, engineers and contractors we now have finalised plans and are in a position to begin this project. Our goal is to have Stage One completed by mid 2024. The funding trusts that we are partnering with will not commit funds to the project until we have the balance of funds raised. This makes 2023 a key time for fundraising to see this dream become reality.

We have purchased the land and buildings and have a mortgage of approximately $200,000. This is the maximum level of debt we are able to service. We therefore need to raise the total cost of the fit out. Below is our budget to see stage one completed:
Cost of project: $1,250,000
Funds already raised: $510,785
Community Grants Approved: $480,000
Pledges: $20,500
Costs incurred: $2,800
Funds to raise: $235,915

As of 1st February 2024, we have raised

81%

of the total cost*

AAW Jones Charitable Trust: $25,000
Alexander McMillan Charitable Trust: $25,000
